Department: Communications About Our Job Looking for a flexible part-time opportunity where you can make an impact and gain valuable local government experience? Sarasota Countys 311 Contact Center is hiring a part-time OPS Call Center Customer Service Representative a great starting point for joining the County and learning how local government operates. As the Countys front door, youll support residents by answering questions and connecting them with services across all 17 Sarasota County departments, giving you unique exposure to County operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Job Description: If youre tech-savvy, customer-focused, and enjoy helping others, this could be a great fit. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of customer service or call center experience, are familiar with Sarasota County communities (including Sarasota, Venice, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, and North Port), and bilingual Spanish skills are a plus. This temporary OPS position is expected to last approximately six months, offers part-time hours with flexibility, and is paid $19.09/hour. Apply today! About The Position In this role, you will receive, research, refer, and respond to the general public and county employees for government services. For more information, see below... Receive telephone calls from the general public and county employees for the purpose of obtaining County services or information. Determine what type of service is being requested and respond to citizen requests. Furnish callers with service request tracking numbers and work orders for follow-up inquiries. Advise callers of the projected service, completion time, and status of their requests. Document the caller's information and the nature of the request, and enter it into a work/asset management system. About the Schedule Work Hours: Part-Time, Up to 29 hours per week (flexible). This position offers the possibility of hybrid work 1-2 days per week after meeting the six-month probationary period! About You To be considered for this role, you must have the following: High School Diploma or equivalent education. The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities: Please note that these are not requirements but bonuses for your consideration. Bilingual in Spanish. One (1) year of experience in a clerical or customer service environment. Working knowledge of computer software dealing with public response. Knowledge of Sarasota County and all of the geographic areas/cities such as Sarasota, Venice, Englewood, Nokomis, Osprey, and North Port. Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. About Everything Else Pay Rate: $19.09/hr OPS positions are not eligible for benefits and are only paid for hours worked.
