We have a fantastic opportunity for a Part-time Telephone Switchboard Operator at our Montefiore New Rochelle Facility Job Summary The Telephone Switchboard operator operates the switchboard and information desk. Responds to internal and external calls, paging inquiry, codes and/or overhead paging requests. Performs general clerical duties including and not limited to faxing, copying, scanning, filing and documenting information as needed. Assistance in working with telecommunication devices (phones, pagers etc.) is required Job Duties Include: - Hospital telephone directory, paging vendor program, emergency notification system - Update telephone directory as necessary in order to maintain a complete and accurate listing. - Operates and maintains communication equipment correctly. Understand and utilizes system logs accurately. - Provide immediate response to and processes emergency calls promptly. Monitor alarms for hospital and transmitters - Distribute Batteries - Document co-workers call outs - Adheres to departmental and Hospital guidelines concerning safety, rules of conduct etc. Job Qualifications: - High Diploma/GED required - Knowledge of MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) type 35 WPM, customer service and business etiquette required - Knowledge of Nortel and Cisco phone console along with the ability to handle, swap and activate paging vendors is necessary. - Use pf fax machine, scanners, copy machines and personal computers with automated operators functions. - Knowledge of paging vendor program, emergency notification program, hospital telecom directory along with extensive use of Microsoft outlook is required Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital is an equal employment opportunity employer.
