In this dynamic nights-and-weekends role, youll get the best of both worlds: stepping into the spotlight to host live coverage while rolling up your sleeves to produce behind the scenes. We are searching for a true conversationalista journalist who thrives in the fast pace of breaking news, doesn't rely on a teleprompter, and knows how to connect with viewers on a personal, human level. What You'll Do: Own the Stream: Serve as the face and voice of our night and weekend streaming audience, balancing real-time, "happening right now" updates with forward-thinking, creative content. Master the Tech: We will train you to operate a TriCaster, empowering you to independently produce, direct, and anchor your very own streaming broadcasts. Be a Team Player: Seamlessly transition between leading your own live, on-air coverage and jumping in to support your teammates behind the camera. What You'll Need: Strong knowledge of current events Proven ability to communicate clearly and confidently both on-air and behind the scenes in a fast-paced, unscripted breaking news environment. Excellent editorial judgment, research skills, and attention to detail. Basic experience with digital news production, live streaming workflows, and newsroom technologies. Familiarity of TriCaster a plus, but willingness and ability to learn technology quickly is a must. Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and think several steps ahead. Ability to thrive under pressure and pivot quickly as news develops. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Flexibility to work varied hours, weekends, and holidays as news demands. Qualifications & Skills Experience & Education Professional Background: Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a major market producer, news manager, or reporter/anchor in a medium-to-large market. Education: Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred. Technical & Professional Skills On-Camera Presence: Excellent on-camera delivery and communication skills are required. Writing Mastery: Flawless writing and copy-editing skills, with proficiency in English grammar and conversational broadcast style. Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with video production technology, including non-linear editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) and video switching tools. Judgment: Exceptional news and editorial judgment with a deep commitment to ethical integrity. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Physicality: Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and reach; must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Vision: Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus. Schedule: Must be able to work varied hours, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and during severe weather situations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Were disruptors. Were big dreamers.
