Located just 5 miles from the beaches of the Jersey Shore, VCA Toms River Animal Hospital is a 7 doctor general practice offering wellness and sick care, digital radiography including dental x-rays, surgery, FAST ultrasound, rehabilitation and laser therapy, acupuncture, in-house bloodwork, and hospitalization. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team full time. Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to: Assisting Veterinarians with appointments Assisting Veterinarians with surgeries and anesthetic dentistry Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging Maintaining medical records Filling prescriptions Providing compassionate care and a "home away from home" for hospitalized pets Providing exceptional customer service for our clients The ideal candidate will have: Experience as a veterinary technician/assistant is required; credentialed (CVT/LVT/RVT) preferred but not required Experience in emergency medicine, surgery, and dentistry A positive, encouraging and supportive attitude Excellent communication skills Flexibility in hours including (but not limited to) evenings, weekends, and holidays Willingness and capability to be cross-trained in reception and kennel Working knowledge of computers Team player mindset, willing to learn new techniques and treatments This is a Day Shift position Interested?
