Join our team in this unique blended role as part-time (20 hours/week) Health Fitness and Injury Prevention Professional in Tobaccoville, NC! Coordinate, implement, and deliver health and fitness programs and services, promotions, and outreach activities. Supports programs focused on the prevention of work injuries, physical conditioning, and employee education and wellness. Responsible for providing outstanding service to members & program participants to maximize participation, outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Schedule: 20 hours/week, M-Th, daytime/midday Perks: Access to our 401(k) retirement program with company match and certification discount program. What you will be doing: Monitors facility; interacts with participants and monitors equipment and participant safety. Educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness. Researches health & fitness educational topics and identifies appropriate participant educational materials. Coordinates and leads a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs & promotions. Creates and maintains bulletin boards, newsletters, and other marketing & communication materials. Conducts fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results; designs individualized programs to meet the participants interests, abilities, and goals. Promotes program offers and conducts outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive participants. Participates in membership drives to acquire new participants; enrolls new participants and conducts facility, program, and equipment orientations. Conducts employee injury prevention programs, education, and training. Delivers work conditioning, early intervention services, and ergonomic education with the overall focus being prevention of work-related injuries. Leads work conditioning classes, delivers proactive, lineside job coaching, leading, or facilitating pre-shift or during shift stretching programs, and leading educational sessions for employees. Collects and documents appropriate program data to support the ROI process. Collaborates with the Clients existing resources and programming, including Heath Services, Safety, Ergonomics, and well-being teams. Other duties as needed/assigned. Minimum Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, or related discipline. Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications required from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety & Health Institute. Note: certification must have an in-person component and not 100% online/OSHA compliant. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity. Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. Compensation: $18/Hour - $20/Hour. Pay is dependent on experience and qualifications. Additional commission opportunities for someone with an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved Personal Trainer certification.
