Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank) Full/Part-Time Part time Job Type Temporary Compensation No benefits Job Description Basic Purpose Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities for performing or supervising a variety of unskilled to semi-skilled manual labor and general repair duties, or assisting craft personnel in custodial, housekeeping, grounds maintenance or building trades. This primarily involves performing routine tasks which consist of manual labor or providing assistance to skilled trades and crafts workers in completing skilled tasks or projects. Compensation: $15.63/hr Typical Functions Mowing, cutting grass, weed-eating, edging and watering. Landscaping, planting, trimming and maintaining flower beds, bushes, hedges, shrubs and trees. Maintains entryways, sidewalks and grounds by washing windows, sweeping sidewalks, picking-up trash, cleaning mats, emptying trash and cleaning trash cans. Cleans culverts, drains and ditches, to include the removal of unwanted trees and plants as needed and as approved by your supervisor. Trim shrubs, bushes and trees to include trimming dead limbs, maintaining tree canopy heights for equipment; maintain other plants on campus. Sweep walkways and entry ways into buildings. Picks up trash and performs general grounds clean-up. Level Descriptor Education and Experience Requirements at this level are none Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies Knowledge of the tools, equipment, methods and practices in the lawn maintenance, grounds keeping and in the general building trades. Ability to follow simple oral instructions; skill to use and operate various grounds keeping equipment, hand tools and high speed power tools. Special Requirements Physical Requirements: Applicant must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 40 pounds. Applicant must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions (Over 95 Degrees F and below 20 Degrees F). Applicant must be able to work from various building heights.
