The Program Manager - Packaging Supplier Quality: Key Areas of Responsibility: Team & Talent Development: Lead and develop a team of five direct reports, fostering growth and excellence. Oversee the qualification of new packaging, suppliers, supplier sites, molds, packaging formats, and replacement of supplier equipment and assets. Support Abbott Nutrition's pipeline of innovation and ongoing capacity and growth. Maintain a compliance and food safety-focused mindset, ensuring the team is always audit-ready. Continuous Improvement: Drive strategy and vision for the Qualifications team, enhancing the qualification process, removing barriers, and developing both internal teams and suppliers. Responsibilities: Conduct supplier qualification assessments to ensure packaging quality and supplier processes, facilities, and systems meet Abbott Nutrition and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional partners and suppliers throughout the qualification process. Work with Package Engineering, Procurement, and Abbott manufacturing sites to qualify, validate, and commercialize packaging commodities. Develop packaging suppliers' systems and processes to improve capability and create certificates of analysis. Ensure supplier in-line equipment is validated. Review and update supplier regulatory documentation for packaging changes and new qualifications to ensure compliance. Maintain and control the approved supplier status of suppliers. Approve and ensure compliance with proposed changes to supplier processes, making necessary adjustments. Support global operations by resolving packaging material issues promptly. Develop sampling and correction plans to address packaging issues within received lots. Drive CAPAs for Qualification projects by following root cause, corrective and preventative best practices. Ensure CAPA compliance to Abbott policies and procedures. Lead investigations to resolve and troubleshoot supplier processing or packaging issues. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical or science field required. 8-10 years of experience in quality or packaging engineering, supplier quality assurance programs, or related experience in operations or quality assurance. Leadership experience in building and developing a team. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes (production, logistics, and engineering) and quality assurance principles. Technical understanding of various technologies, product quality systems, and supplier programs, with the ability to provide consultation and recommendations to improve supplier performance. Understanding of food packaging laws and regulations for commercial packaging. Experience in performing and leading supplier assessments and troubleshooting supplier issues independently. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all organizational levels internally and with leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities/projects simultaneously, organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and prepare plans and reports. The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 $198,700.00 In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
