Fabrication Specialist Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Experienced Fabrication Specialist to join the Fabrication Emergent Operations over the EOSC Wire Shop located in North Charleston, South Carolina on 2nd shift. Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on complex components and systems using established drawings and requirements. Position Responsibilities: Achieve and maintain level C OJT shop requirements. Repair and fabricate wire harnesses, and electrical components. Work as liaison between shop and ME, SCA, IE, and sister shops. Support, evaluate and implement alternate solutions to work related issues; Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of a program plan that integrates those activities required to accomplish the departments specific objectives. Display the Boeing Values Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Must be willing to work any shift as needed 3+ years working with power and hand tools 3+ years of fabrication, manufacturing or Aerospace experience 3+ years experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of wiring tooling, equipment and hand tools 4+ years of electrical mechanical experience on aircraft Proven ability to effectively communicate status of parts and material using automated systems and manual reporting methods to ensure parts availability at an accelerated rate in a dynamic environment Proven ability to coordinate with various functions to set priorities, expedite and complete production activities to avoid schedule delays Ability to work independently under general supervision Multiple systems experience and knowledge including but not limited to: Andon, SAT, Velocity, SRIT, CMES 5S Experience & Knowledge (Lean, Six Sigma a plus) Knowledge and willingness to assist with leading the BPS progression of the shop Minimum of one-year experience of 787 Operations Minimum of one-year experience with 787 wire fabrication and rework Minimum of one-year experience with Velocity, REDARS, PSDS, CMES Conflict of Interest: Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
