Makena is seeking a Purchasing & Receiving Clerk to join the Procurement Department. The Purchasing and Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for all incoming and outgoing product shipments. Their duties include receiving and checking incoming deliveries from vendors against product invoices and purchase orders (POs), organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests (Requisitions) and notifying management personnel when they dont have enough of a particular product to fulfill orders. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees. Key Responsibilities Assists with day to day operations of the Purchasing Department. Assists with overall receiving and storeroom operations. Checks mail and distributes to mail room daily. Routes deliveries to departments as needed. Establish and maintain professional relations with vendors. Inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy. Coordinates and assist in special projects relating to purchasing. Assists with and participates in monthly inventories of all food, beverage and controllable items in coordination with kitchen and F&B staff. Receives and stores all incoming F&B deliveries in either the walk in or dry storage (F&B responsible for transportation of goods from receiving area and walk in to appropriate areas. Operate forklifts to pick heavy boxes and transport them to checking area. Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe physical working environment. Ensures all safe work policies and practices are followed. Complies with all company policies and procedures. Completes other duties and tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent education preferred. Previous purchasing or warehouse experience within a Hotel / Hospitality, Residential, Resort Community, or distribution environment preferred, but not required. Working knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Outlook. Computer knowledge preferred. Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures including Warehouse Management Systems. Proficient with electronic scanning equipment. Previous experience with operating warehouse equipment preferred. Valid drivers license with clean DMV record. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred. Additional Requirements Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members. Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
