Job Title: Lab Technologist Reporting To: Manager, Mtrls Science & Engrng Work Schedule: Onsite Blacksburg, VA To be considered for a Lab Technologist role, heres what youll need to bring with you: HS diploma or GED required Associates degree in related field or equivalent Minimum of two years laboratory experience or equivalent As a Lab Technologist, you will: Perform a wide variety of tests and analyses for investigation and evaluation of materials, processes, products, or failures basic to Moog Inc. product reliability. Maintain laboratory notebook documenting all experiments or technical activities along with maintaining online records. Accurately interpret analytical results. Develop and document new analytical results procedures. Successfully perform analyses from established and new procedures using each of the following: Metallography Polishing equipment Microphotography Balances Wet chemical apparatus Microhardness tester Universal testing machine Electrical test equipment Precision measuring equipment Gas chromatograph Scanning electron microscope Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer FTIR spectrometer Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) Humidity Testing Assist in training / cross-training of others. Participate in Continuous Improvement Process. Work with minimal supervision. Ability to retain confidential information. Perform other duties as assigned.
