Job Summary & Responsibilities Assumes engineering responsibility for component, module or subsystem design from concept design through manufacturing transfer and ramp through manufacturing transfer and ramp Performs detailed design and component layout including, BOM, drawings, and procedures for new or improved subsystems and validates concepts through prototype builds and analysis Lead and contribute to the concept, design, development, and test of system modules and integration, including electro-mechanical and optical-mechanical instrumentation Identify/specify parts, components, and assemblies Work with key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of critical components Using CAD tools and add-on packages to provide thermal analysis, fluid flow patterns, heat transfer, resonant frequencies, deflections, and internal stresses Regular reviews project updates and reviews Operate within a cross functional team, understand the needs and requirements of internal stakeholders as well as external customers Prepare and chair design reviews Qualifications A Bachelors degree or higher in mechanical engineering or well-related field Substantial working experience as system engineer or principle engineer Demonstrated ability to conceive, design, and produce effective solutions to problems of varying degrees of complexity Strong ability to use CAD tools and add-on analytical programs to analyze heat flow, fluid flow, material properties, and structural stresses Working knowledge of precision motion of heavy components, loads, bearings, low-friction interfaces Knowledge of tribology is a plus Experience working with and selecting linear motors and related supporting components An understanding of magnetic field interactions with solids and the potential for material heating and induced forces Experience working with and directing a collaborative, cross-functional team development effort Experience working with and managing suppliers of critical parts and components Familiarity with optical alignment methods and tools, hands-on experience a plus Experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry and familiarity with UL, CE, SEMI, and RoHS standards is a major plus. Compensation & Growth Base Salary Range: $96,800.00 - $145,200.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
