Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor leads maintenance operations to ensure the safe, compliant, and highly reliable performance of critical manufacturing and facility systems supporting cell therapy production in Tarzana, CA. In a Cell Therapy environment, where products are often patient-specific and time-sensitive, this role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted operations, cleanroom conditions, and strict chain-of-identity and chain-of-custody controls Tarzana, CA. Success in this role requires the ability to: Lead teams in a fast paced, patient-centric manufacturing environment Balance speed, compliance, and precision Anticipate and mitigate risks to critical, often irreplaceable batches Drive transition from reactive to predictive maintenance strategies Collaborate multi-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering to support 7 days cell therapy operations Ultimately, the Maintenance Supervisor plays a direct role in ensuring that life-saving therapies reach patients safely, reliably, and on time, by maintaining the integrity and performance of the systems that produce them. Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Manage and mentor maintenance technicians; set clear expectations for safety, quality, and performance; lead daily tier meetings and shift handovers; build a culture of ownership, urgency, and continuous improvement; collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations. Maintenance Execution & Compliance: Ensure all activities meet GMP, FDA, and site standards; review and approve complete, accurate work orders; enforce CMMS usage (e.g., SAP); lead aspects of preventive and corrective maintenance and calibrations; maintain inspection readiness and support audits. Reliability & Asset Management: Implement reliabilitycentered maintenance; investigate failures using RCA and FMEA; improve MTBF and MTTR; identify and resolve bad actor equipment; partner on upgrades and lifecycle management. Planning & Scheduling: Work with the Maintenance Planner to prioritize and schedule work; secure parts, tools, and permits in advance; validate and refine job plans; increase labor efficiency and minimize reactive work. Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE): Enforce LOTO, confined space, and permit systems; conduct safety observations, audits, and incident investigations; lead by example to sustain a zeroincident culture. Continuous Improvement: Remove waste from maintenance processes; increase schedule compliance, PM efficiency, and spareparts management performance; lead or participate in Kaizen and Lean initiatives. Work Environment: AZ is a cGMP regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. We require your presence on the production floor and occasional off-shift support This may involve gowning for cleanroom environments Minimum requirements: High school diploma/GED required. 8+ years in industrial facilities maintenance/leadership experience 4+ years of leadership experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP regulated environment (medical device/food service may be acceptable.) Desirable: Technical diploma/apprenticeship in HVAC or Boiler maintenance. Bachelors degree in Mechanical engineering or Facilities Management is a plus. . The annual base salary for this position ranges from $89,874 to $134,812. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
