Hiring Agency: Veterans Affairs - Agency 28 Location: Norfolk, NE Hiring Rate: $16.892 Job Posting: JR2026-00027894 Custodian/Housekeeper- Norfolk Veterans' Home (Open) Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed): Job Description: Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with every other weekend rotation Wages: $19.892/hr (Base rate $16.892 + $3 differential for every hour worked) Norfolk Veterans Home is seeking an individual to work in beautiful long term care facility and maintain high standards of sanitation required in a healthcare environment. Clean member's rooms, restrooms and facility offices to include walls, windows, and ceilings. Remove laundry from living areas; may assist with delivery of clean linen and personals to resident's rooms. Empty trash containers, carpet care including vacuuming, spot removal & shampooing and perform other floor cleaning duties; mop, buff and wax when necessary. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: No specific education, training, or experience is required for entry to this class. Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge and cleaning experience in commercial business, hospital, medical building or long term care facility; Experience with floor care such as: high & low speed buffers, carpet extractor, auto scrubber, and floor scrubber. Other: Pre-employment background check and drug screening required. Knowledge of facility standards of sanitation and cleaning procedures. Ability to: follow written and oral instructions; operate and maintain cleaning equipment, and mix cleaning solutions in proper proportions. Ability to operate heavy commercial cleaning equipment and to move/lift up to 75 lbs, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
