Associate or Mid-Level Quality Engineer - B Shift Company: Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join our team located in Huntsville, AL! This positions primary duties will be supporting BDS programs performing First Article Inspection (FAI), Corrective Actions, Non-Conformance Review (NCR) disposition, review/approving/interpreting engineering drawing requirements, approving work instructions, and interfacing with customers and stakeholders. This is an on-site position that currently supports a 4x10 work schedule on Shift B Monday Thursday 4:30PM 3:00AM. Initial training and future support may occur on variable shift. This is at the hiring teams discretion and may change in the future based on business needs. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in one of the following relevant fields of study: Engineering Computer Science Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Data Science IT (Information Technology) Environmental Science Management Science Quality Systems Quality Assurance Manufacturing Management in Quality Statistics Aviation Technology Aeronautics Aeronautical Science Aviation and Aerospace Safety Aviation Science Associate - Level 2: Researches contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements for applicability to specific proposals and program processes and documentation. Develops sections of quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. Analyzes capability assessments to support supplier selection activities. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Performs data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Compiles performance reports and other statistical data to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. Works under general supervision. Mid-Level - Level 3: Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Provides Quality interpretation of requirements. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances. Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. Works under general direction This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor's or higher in one of relevant fields of study listed Experience with AS9100 and/or a similar Quality Management System standard Experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences More than 1 year of experience performing quantitative or statistical analysis, data collection, preparation and interpretation More than 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment More than 1 year of experience working Root Cause Corrective Action More than 1 year of experience working with Non-Conformance (NCR) processes First Article Inspection (FAI) experience More than 1 year of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience More than 1 year of experience performing line stock checks Active U.S. Security Clearance More than 1 year of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams More than 3 years of experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences Experience communicating to employees, customers, peers and multiple levels of leadership Experience working with and building cross functional teams and partnerships with multiple stakeholders within the company, including engineering Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
