The Role: Xylem seeks an Aftermarket Sales Representative (Transport) for the Indianapolis area to support our Flygt brand. This position is part of a passionate team dedicated to providing legendary customer service and supporting company goals by optimizing our commercial team, acting as "One Company," and driving revenue and profitability. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with external customers and Xylem departments. Essential Functions: Develop deep technical understanding of Xylem-Flygt Transport products and applications. Provide Aftermarket, replacement, and retrofit product selections, including conversion kits, and develop related quotations. Deliver pre- and post-sales technical and commercial support, including basic Application Engineering for the design and proposal of systems and aftermarket solutions. Review specifications to identify and facilitate pre-bid requirements. Execute follow-up work, including product selection, solicitation of vendor quotes, and customer quotation development. Manage projects for new jobs with an emphasis on technically complex Transport projects. Provide full-range support including schedule oversight, communication with Xylem departments and customers, technical manual creation, and order execution based on contract specifications. Respond timely to internal and external inquiries regarding technical requests, order status, product availability, and pricing. Proactively notify customers of order status changes and resolve issues effectively. Utilize CRM, quotation, and ERP tools daily to maintain accurate data and support customer interactions. Conduct municipality and contractor touch calls to investigate potential opportunities and communicate Xylems value proposition. Participate in trade shows, job site startups, troubleshooting, and customer product education. Lead or participate in special projects to improve processes, create best practices, or support regional Xylem initiatives. Provide education and training on software tools and process flows to Technical Inside Sales or other support positions. Handle overflow tasks from other local or regional sales support positions, including technical support and order fulfillment, to ensure a legendary customer experience. Minimum Qualifications: Five+ years of commercial sales, field service, or business development experience in the Industrial, Water, or Wastewater industries. Superior customer service, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Thorough understanding of pump systems troubleshooting and the benefits of solid service practices. Significant experience with submersible pumps, mixers, and pump systems (strongly preferred). General knowledge of control schematics, PLCs, and monitoring devices (a plus). Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and CRM platforms. Day in the Life: Environment: A mix of office, customer job sites, and shop environments. Occasional exposure to job site conditions, e.g., gas fields, petrochemical refineries, mills, mines, construction sites, industrial/power plants, wastewater treatment plants, etc.; occasional exposure to shop noise and fumes. Physical/Travel: Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for extended periods in all weather conditions. Requires the ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Schedule: Standard 40-hour week with travel requirements up to 50%. Compensation & Benefits: Salary: Estimated range of $65,000 to $85,000 plus bonus, dependent on skills and experience.
