Annual Salary: $55,594.50 - $59,182.50 Hourly: $28.51 - $30.35 Department: Culture & Recreation, Maintenance & Trades Division: Construction FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: In this role, you will perform specialized carpentry-related repairs and maintenance at City facilities. In addition, you will receive and process work orders and maintain records of work. Examples of Duties: Performs maintenance and repairs on various types of City owned facilities and equipment, specializing in carpentry. Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, roofing, building framework, and trim. Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions. Replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings. Installs and repairs door hardware. Operates specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline. May lead the work of maintenance crews at the worksite, ensuring that the work is performed safely and efficiently. Receives work orders, prioritizes and distributes them according to division procedures. Estimates project materials from blueprints and purchases necessary supplies. Maintains records of all work performed. Works extended hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and/or buildings. Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid South Carolina driver's license. Ability to perform work order management through smart phone, tablet and/or computer.
