Department Information Technology-Biomed Job Summary The Technician III, Biomedical maintains clinical equipment through effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Program (MEMPs) and Denver Health business standards. Performs a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, diagnosing and troubleshooting in the repair of basic and complex medical equipment. The technician may participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment, accessories, and supplies, and coordinates special projects and performs technical tasks. The Technician III provides technical guidance and support to other Biomed Technicians levels I and II employees and will support the lead technician and help guide the team on a day-to-day basis to ensure team targets and goals are completed. Follows instructions, policies, and the core values of Denver Health and exhibits professionalism with integrity in all interactions with customers and staff. Essential Functions: Performs assigned duties in accordance with current policies and procedures, including scheduled maintenance, equipment inspection, installations, troubleshooting and repairs, adjustments, calibrations, and safety testing of all levels of medical equipment ranging from infusion pumps, patient warmers, ventilator, imaging, and anesthesia equipment. (30%) Perform administrative tasks associated with the Tech III position, including pm procedure review, specified equipment cross-training, parts ordering and returns, email correspondence/customer interaction, and document all work performed in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). (25%) Participate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment, accessories and supplies. (5%) Coordinates special projects and performs technical tasks. (10%) Provides technical guidance to technicians Is and IIs in the department. (10%) Attend training and schools as assigned or offered to keep up on skills and technologies to help support the institution. (10%) Continuously improve customer relationship by driving customer satisfaction through excellent customer service and effective communication. (10%) Education: Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology required. Work Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical field and working with medical equipment required. Two additional years of experience required in lieu of degree. Licenses: CBET-Certified Biomedical Technician - AAMI - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation preferred. DLR-Colorado Driver's License Class R - DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Listening, organizational and analytical skills. Integrity and Accountability. Ability to deal with high stress/pressure situations and manage complex customer situations. Ability to problem solve while dealing with high stress/pressure and non-high stress/pressure situations and manage complex customer problems. Ability to work under minimal supervision and independently to complete tasks in a timely manner. Manage projects start to finish in conjunction with the clinical engineer coordinating with technicians, users, and vendors. Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Read and understand electronic and pneumatic schematics. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Basic IT and networking knowledge. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, computer hardware and software, including applications and basic programming.
