The Opportunity This position works out of our Lake Mary, FL location in the Abbott Heart Failure, Acelis Connected Health business. Our Heart Failure solutions are helping address some of the Worlds greatest healthcare challenges. In this role the core purpose of the Revenue Cycle Managers role is to improve profitability by reducing the amount of denied claims and strategically managing the Accounts Receivable. Revenue Cycle Management is a process, not a product and its a strategic investment as opposed to overhead costs, engaging in new payment models. RCM is at the forefront to increase bottom line returns vs. increased provision and provide excellent customer satisfaction tied to statement generation and up to full balance collections. What Youll Work On Management responsibility for ACHs Collections/Denials Management/Credit Balance function, including support staff and establishment of goals and objectives. Leads activities associated with identifying Revenue Cycle opportunities and exposures, assessing alternatives, delivering recommendations to management, supporting implementation to chosen alternatives, and optimizing outcomes in association with overall business objectives. Develops, maintains, monitors and implements actions in association with Revenue Cycle specific Business Performance Metrics and People Performance Metrics. Interacts weekly and collaboratively with API and assist with final interviews of TLs and SMEs, payer trending, changes and/or alterations to work instructions, reviews productivity outputs, DSO trends, cash trends and viable opportunities to increase cash. Defines and leads activities in support of ACHs Systems and Controls roadmap for the Claims/Collections/Posting organization, promoting an environment that aligns effectively with existing and emerging regulatory trends and requirements. Partners with functional stakeholders for purpose of driving measurable continuous improvements Establishes Revenue Cycle subject matter expertise and develops teammates to promote an organization centered on the philosophy of continuous improvement. Engages to support broader business initiatives involving technology/systems, process engineering, culture of controls, organizational training/development, internal/external audit activities, etc. Responsible for the management of the daily AR management operations, including data downloads, transfers, adjustments, and accounts receivable. Monitors coding, charge posting, billing, payment and collection for compliance with established policies & procedures. Follows all regulatory policies and procedures, privacy and security standards in accordance with government agencies to include HIPAA requirements. Analyze trends using reporting to diagnose possible issues with clients or payers and continuous improvement of processes. Works closely with leadership to maintain appropriate RCM policies and procedures for each function within the AR department. Implement new policies or revise current policies as needed. Ensure staff adheres to established policies and take corrective action as needed. Review customer account adjustments, write offs, reconciliations, and credit memos Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state and local governmental regulations that affect the collections and process, including the Fair Debt Collection Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Practices Act Performs other duties as assigned by superiors. Required Qualifications Bachelors Degree or equivalent amount of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management. Understanding of the Health Insurance industry and the impact various departments have on one another. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and effectively communicate to all levels of constituents, including prospects/clients/providers/brokers Must have strong organizational skills and strong Account Management skills Ability to lead, manage and motivate a multi-functional team. Ability to manage and lead teams to ensure departmental goals and objectives are achieved and exceeded. Conducts accurate and timely assessment of subordinates through annual performance reviews. Maintains accuracy of time and attendance data for area of responsibility Conducts supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable labor laws. Maintains a culture of accountability by setting clear objectives for all employees in areas of responsibility through regular follow-up, variance tracking and results. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of client support experience preferred. 10+ years of managing teams.
