The Maintenance Technician is responsible for plant maintenance and support of the equipment throughout the plant. Working in partnership with the Maintenance Manager, they keep the plant and its primary electrical and mechanical systems running. All procedures and practices used are grounded in standards, regulations and laws addressing food safety and food quality, as well as environmental safety in accordance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Employee Type: Full time Location: IL Elk Grove Job Type: Production Group Job Posting Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description: Schedule: 2nd shift 2:00pm to 12:30am, Monday - Friday, with rotating for Saturday work based on production schedule. Work Location: 1325 Chase Ave, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007 Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) with match, STD/LTD/AD&D/Life, HSA, FSA, EAP, Hospital indemnity, Accident Insurance, Identity and Fraud Protection Plan, Legal, and Critical Illness. Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $29.00 to $34.00 per hour, which include the shift differential. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Execute preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, heaters, pumps, and motors. Perform routine facility upkeep such as changing light bulbs, ceiling tiles, and basic plumbing tasks. Operate and maintain boilers, water heaters, and water softeners. Work all regular and overtime scheduled shifts. (must be flexible working different shifts if needed) Identify and report equipment wear or damage; replace worn components. Assist in machine setup, changeovers, relocation, and alignment, using drawings or blueprints, if necessary. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including belts, drives, and actuators. Use hand tools and basic power tools to complete work orders. Support wastewater operations and learn relevant chemical and safety protocols. Adhere to lock/out (LOTO) procedures when performing maintenance. Maintain accurate documentation of tasks in the CMMS. Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals. All other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate preferred. Minimum 2-4 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with blueprints, maintenance manuals, and SOPs. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of basic LOTO and workplace safety protocols. Basic experience with pumps and motors. Valid drivers license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Environmental Working Conditions Employees must comply with all safety policies and safe work procedures established by the company. Job tasks may also involve: Using personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, goggles, gloves, and other equipment as established in company policies and safe work procedures. Compliant with the uniform policy. Lifting up to 50 pounds, anything over should seek assistance. Frequent carrying, bending, standing, sitting, and repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks. The employee is frequently exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employees will be expected to attend safety training, serve on the facility safety committee and participate in hazard analysis and resolution.
