About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate to join its Technology Finance team within the Commercial Banks Sponsor Credit group, an industry leader in delivering innovative financing solutions. This role will be part of a dedicated team responsible for underwriting and portfolio management within the software/technology vertical. In this role, you will: In partnership with a senior portfolio manager, assist with portfolio management and credit underwriting activities for an assigned portfolio of technology-focused and primarily sponsor-backed clients, including performing transaction due diligence, financial analysis and modeling, credit analysis and monitoring, industry analysis, enterprise valuation, and credit memoranda preparation Engage in regular client interaction and relationship management with CEO, CFO and private equity sponsor for assigned portfolio. Collaborate with internal partners in commercial and investment banking to develop and execute on relationship plans, and join meetings when relevant Review credit agreements and other relevant loan documentation while assisting with legal diligence and negotiation. Over time, develop a proficiency in structuring, negotiating and documenting facility agreements Regularly present credit and financial analysis to business leadership and independent risk management (IRM) in a variety of forums, including recurring portfolio reviews, pre-screen discussions and credit/approval committees. Develop strong and proficient written and verbal presentation skills Participate in business and enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, including ad-hoc specialized projects that arise from time to time to improve and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team Collaborate with peers and functional partners and develop internal relationships that will facilitate and enhance your role effectiveness. As generative AI tools proliferate, leverage internal AI platforms to improve efficiency and apply best practices Required Qualifications: 2+ years of Mid-Corporate Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education Desired Qualifications: Experience in sponsor finance at a commercial bank, investment bank or finance company Excellent proficiency in accounting and financial modeling Strong analytical skills, with heightened attention to detail and accuracy Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Job Expectations: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship This position offers a hybrid work schedule Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing; affected employees will be expected to provide information to the Wells Fargo Personal Account Dealing Team and abide by applicable policy requirements if hired.
