We are looking for someone dependable and willing to develop their skills as a Veterinary Assistant. Requirements Previous experience working in a veterinary facility. Must be friendly, outgoing, people oriented" with excellent communication skills. Developed technical skills but must be a team player willing to learn new techniques. Technical Assistant duties include: Housekeeping/Maintenance Examinations/Assessments Client Relations and Education Anesthesia Monitoring/ Record Keeping Surgery/Dentistry Radiology Nursing Care Laboratory Pharmacy VCA Henderson Pass Animal Hospital values continuous growth and development. We routinely utilize CE's and training opportunities to further the entire hospitals knowledge. VCA Partners with PennFoster and has scholarship opportunities available for the technician program. Experience: This individual should have experience in a veterinary hospital and be able to jump in where needed. Skills: Work independently without direction as well as with the group Self-motivated with a clear understanding of how the hospital flows Good customer service skills and empathy are a must. Familiarity with anesthesia and all aspects of surgical procedures. Technical skills including but not limited to sample collection, IV catheter placement, laboratory in house and send out preparation, Patient in-take, TPR.
