Manufacturing Industrial Engineer 3 Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Industrial Engineer (Level 3) to support the Aft Body Industrial Engineering team in North Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will utilize manufacturing operations knowledge and business acumen to partner with cross functional teams from production operations, engineering, quality, supplier management, materials management, and program management to achieve organizational business goals and objectives. Primary Responsibilities: At Boeing, our Industrial Engineers are leaders in innovation, development, evaluation, and implementation of methods and systems in support of complex manufacturing processes. In this position, you will be responsible for the following tasks: Partnering with other organizations in the evaluation and refinement of company goals, business objectives, decision support needs, and both the data and performance requirements to meet departmental/project level objectives. Support communication and collaboration with business partners, including supporting means of production and deployment (i.e. upgrades, testing, etc.) of software and systems. Deliver simple/routine decision support visualizations and reports, dashboards and/or metrics. Analyze data elements and business rules applicable to the business requirements and offers options for simple Digital Transformation information model solutions that satisfy the customers needs. Utilize standard methodologies and technologies applicable for use. Support analysis to identify and understand an issue or event. Utilizes best practices to improve productivity through automation and standardization. Additional Responsibilities: Applies Industrial Engineering concepts, techniques, analysis and decision tools to promote and assist in implementing changes in manufacturing, engineering and service operations. Develops and maintains complex Business System factory definition to be used for manufacturing planning. Develops models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data (e.g., statistics, operations research, engineering economics), and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to customers (e.g., management, departments, suppliers). Applies general Industrial Engineering techniques and concepts to product and process design teams throughout all phases of product lifecycle, resulting in a robust product design and work statement that meets program requirements. Leads in research, design, development, improvement and implementation of processes to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, through the application of Lean and other Industrial Engineering concepts for large scale systems integration and asset utilization. Manages, defines, negotiates, and controls the scope, cost, and timing of projects, and performs risk analysis using project management tools (e.g., work break-down structure, precedence network, resource allocation). Provides support to project completion. Utilizes engineering methods (e.g., mathematical models, simulation, statistics) to support the development of optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources (e.g., facilities, personnel, materials, equipment) in the creation and validation of products. Under general direction, analyzes and designs value stream, including capability, capacity (e.g., make/buy, supplier selection, risk analysis, supplier performance), throughput, work flow and logistics (e.g., critical path, lead-time, transportation, factory layout). Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering field 3 or more years of experience working in an engineering, manufacturing and/or production environment? 3 or more years of experience in the Industrial Engineering Functional Skill 3+ years experience in one or more of the following: Data analytics, data visualization, data architecture, programming, Object oriented programming or web development 3+ years experience in one or more of the following: SQL, Tableau, VBA, R, Python Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree or higher in industrial engineering or systems engineering. Strong Communication Skills. Understanding of Industrial Engineering tools and how they integrate into shop systems. Ability to successfully work well with others in a cross functional team.
