Join our team of Mosquito Management Technician in ridding the county of known pests - all from the convenience of a provided truck. In this role you'll treat rural and urban areas alike - we provide paid training and have room for both growth and advancement. Monitor and provide treatment for the reduction of mosquitoes in assigned areas Locate sources (larval habitats) of mosquitoes, obtaining GPS readings and photos of the habitats Obtain written permission from owners for routine inspections and treatments on private property Maintain data for assigned areas of responsibility in the MapVision Database or other approved systems Conduct investigations in response to customer service requests, set and collect traps, conduct landing rates, and conduct routine inspections Help perform maintenance on equipment, vehicles, and/or MMS Facilities Speak with customers and provide literature on mosquitoes and prevention Monitor environmental factors, including wind speed, rainfall, and/or tidal flooding Serve as team leader for MMS Aides Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (no weekends!) About You Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Florida Drivers License at time of hire Must pass Core and Public Health Pesticide Applicator exams within six (6) months of employment (We can help with this!) Physical Demands: May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds Must be fit tested for a respirator.
