Hiring Agency: Military - Agency 31 Location: Lincoln, NE Hiring Rate: $21.836 Job Posting: JR2025-00019113 Maintenance Specialist I (Open) Applications No Longer Accepted On (If no date is displayed, job is posted as open until closed): 09-09-2025 Job Description: Location: Construction Facilities Management Office, Joint Force Headquarters, 2433 NW 24th Street, Lincoln NE Job Duties Performs skilled painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding work in the major renovation and construction of building structures to construction, maintaining and repairs. Constructs, maintains, and repairs concrete and other foundations, and interior and exterior walls and ceilings from constructions to repairs. Installs, replaces, repairs, and rebuilds locks, electronic electrical locks, security devices, and other hardware to ensure the security of state buildings and property. Inspects and audits work areas and facilities for safety hazards. Performs skilled work in operating and maintaining building control systems. Schedules and performs specialized preventative maintenance and repairs for equipment systems. Other duties as assigned. Starting hourly pay rate is $21.836. Requirements / Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent vocational education in construction, industrial engineering, HVAC, welding or other building trade. Experience in building maintenance, a mechanical trade, or performing safety inspections, investigations or training may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Other: Background/motor vehicle request checks will be required prior to hire. Must have a valid driver's license. Knowledge of standard use, maintenance and safety practices associated with hand tools, power tools and light to heavy machinery; fire codes and fire prevention regulations and procedures. Skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and building maintenance equipment.
