Backend Software Engineer

Job Description: About the Role As a Backend Software Engineer, you will design and build core backend services that power key marketing products and data capabilities. In this role, you will contribute handson engineering expertise, collaborate across teams, and help shape development standards that support highquality, reliable software delivery. You will work within an Agile environment, partner with peers across engineering teams, and use modern cloud technologies to create scalable solutions. This position reports to the Vice President of Engineering and can be performed remotely. What Youll Do In this role, you will: Design, build, and deploy backend solutions using cloudbased technologies. Work within Agile practices to deliver iterative, highvalue features. Research new tools and technologies, share recommendations, and help drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with crossfunctional partners to support datasharing initiatives and connected system workflows. Apply software engineering best practices, including automated testing, peer reviews, and highquality documentation. Gather requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications. What You Bring You will thrive in this role if you have: 5+ years of experience building scalable, realtime backend systems. Strong proficiency in Python. Experience with Unixbased systems. Handson experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. A solid understanding of database technologies including SQL/NoSQL, data modeling, and performance optimization. Experience using development tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and CI/CD workflows. Awareness of foundational UX concepts and experience supporting digitalfirst products. A bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
