Youll support a highperforming veterinary teaching hospital by coordinating purchases, tracking inventory with exact accuracy, and ensuring supplies arrive when clinicians and researchers need them most. Support Strategic Purchasing Decisions: Assist in preparing specifications and evaluating product options that align with departmental needs, budget constraints, and longterm operational goals. Minimum Required Qualifications Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. The ideal candidate will also possess 1 year of related work experience in procurement/purchasing Knowledge of standard business terms and arithmetic. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to provide exacting accuracy in all phases of work. What you need to know Salary: $45,000/year and will be commensurate based on the selected hires education and experience. Schedule: This full-time role has a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Location: Onsite in College Station, TX Please note: Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc., and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless/until relieved by the direct supervisor. Responsibilities Purchasing Processes financial transactions by placing orders with vendors and entering purchasing requisitions into AggieBuy (Texas A&Ms purchasing system) or utilizing departmental credit cards. Processes reports to include appropriate allocations, itemizations, and the assigning of appropriate purchasing codes. Ensures all state documentation for purchases has been obtained and complete pri-25or to purchase. Procures goods and services. Prepares specifications for purchases. Issues purchase orders according to proper policies and procedures. Reviews and monitors incoming requisitions, confirming orders. Inventory Process coordination Maintains documentation of buying transactions. Research discrepancies and reports findings. Maintains accuracy in shipments going out or coming in and organize documentation of received goods from purchase orders. Ensures receiving of product is completed in AggieBuy and VMIS systems as appropriate and communicates with fellow team members when discrepancies are found so appropriate updates can be made. Ensures accuracy of purchases. Returns incorrect/damaged shipments to vendors and resolves inquiries and problems relative to solicitation/procurement actions. Customer Service Responds to inquiries from hospital service areas and serves as a liaison with business/purchasing team, central receiving, and inventory management. Responds promptly to questions from hospital service areas regarding order status. Assists departments in obtaining information on requested products and in the preparation of purchase specifications. Why Texas A&M University?
