SALARY: Starts at $18.00/hr + tips SCHEDULE: Part-Time, 3 days of availability (including nights and weekends) required WORK LOCATION: San Diego, CA (Miramar) COMPANY: At Cutwater Spirits, we are explorers, charting the course with adventure in mind. We meticulously distill our award-winning portfolio of spirits including whiskeys, vodka, gin, rums, tequilas and liqueurs and incorporate them into our canned lineup. ROLE SUMMARY: The Host is responsible greeting customers as they enter a restaurant, giving them menus and explaining the service model. They also handle phone calls and customer queries about the restaurant and menu, and assist various restaurant staff when necessary. They are the first and last touch point for customers and are responsible for providing memorable experiences of Cutwater Spirits. This position works under the direction of the Tasting Room Manager. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet guests and attend to them in a polite and friendly manner Have and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the facility, all Cutwaters spirits and canned cocktails, the surrounding area, prices and menu items offered Walk guests to their table while engaging in conversation (when possible) Maintain and manage all reservations in Yelp and obtain as much information as possible from the guests. (i.e. e-mail, phone number and any special requests or preferences) Manage the flow of guests and reservations, including walk-ins, to ensure the service staff can provide the best customer service at all times Have and maintain working knowledge of the POS (Toast) to correctly complete transactions efficiently and minimize mistakes Communicate efficiently with management, service staff and guests Ensure Host stand is fully stocked with menus, mask bags, etc. and communicate to the MOD if supplies are needed. Provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions Provide guests with instructions on navigating the Tasting Room Assist guests with any retail needs and alcohol purchases to-go Engage with guests to ensure they're happy with their experience Provide a warm and friendly farewell to all guests who leave the Tasting Room Respond to complaints and help to resolve them Answer all phone calls Provide great customer service Clear dishes and glasses throughout customer experience Embrace and fulfill the core values and culture of Cutwater Spirits Provide support to rest of the Tasting Room team during down time and busy periods JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required 1+ years in the hospitality industry (ex: hotel or restaurant) preferred Must be at least 18 years of age.
