Impact Youll Make Analysts in Stout's Machinery & Equipment group support the valuation of machinery, equipment, and other tangible assets across a broad range of commercial and industrial environments. The role combines on-site inspections, asset and market research, data analysis, valuation modeling, and report preparation. You will work closely with senior team members to develop foundational valuation skills while contributing to well-supported analyses for engagements involving personal property, complex property, and special income generating tangible assets. What Youll Do Perform comprehensive financial, industry and technical analyses to support valuation conclusions across a wide range of industries. Perform field inspections when required as part of a valuation project. Develop and document well-supported valuation analyses and reports for privately held and public corporations spanning numerous industries. Valuation analyses may be used for purposes including: Financial, tax, and regulatory requirements Allocation of purchase price Financing and capital restructuring Insurance reporting needs Long-lived asset impairment Property tax consulting Litigation support Various other purposes Participate in client or management meetings providing substantive input on valuation methodologies, assumptions and conclusions. Prepare comprehensive deliverables and supporting analysis including presentations, analysis packets, and written narrative reports that are submitted for review by our senior level professionals and delivery to our clients. Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to enhance research, streamline deliverable preparation, and improve overall efficiency and insight. What You Bring 0-2 years of relevant internship or professional experience. 4-year degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline. Minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 required. Ability to travel. Foundational understanding of financial theory, economics, accounting principles, and financial statement analysis. Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a general knowledge or interest in machinery and equipment. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to build organized analyses and clearly document workpapers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize findings clearly and professionally. High attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a willingness to ask thoughtful questions. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and respond effectively to feedback. Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and accountability for work quality. Professional presence and ability to build productive relationships with clients, colleagues and leadership. Work toward ASA accreditation. Familiarity with or interest in using AI tools and technology to enhance productivity, research, and analysis. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000.00 - $130,000.00 Annual. This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
