Summary: Southern California News Group (SCNG) is looking for a Business Development Executive to spearhead revenue growth for Skyline, our cutting-edge digital and in-house content marketing channel. In this role, you'll provide world-class service, work closely with clients to understand and achieve their advertising campaign objectives, and drive new account development. You'll be a vital part of one of Southern California's largest media companies, with the opportunity to leverage a powerful portfolio of assets, including 11 daily newspapers, associated websites, multiple weekly newspapers, and social channels, reaching a massive audience of over 8.1 million readers weekly. Must be located in the Los Angeles area with monthly in-office expectations in Irvine, CA. What you will do: Drive the full sales cycle, from prospecting to close, with a 100% focus on new business acquisition (all leads self-generated) and exceeding client KPI goals Develop and deliver compelling marketing presentations and solution-based proposals that address customer needs and promote our products and services Cultivate long-term client partnerships to ensure lasting business relationships, continued revenue growth, and the achievement of defined KPIs and success metrics Utilize multiple lead sources to research, prioritize, and target potential customers, aligning their audience segments with SCNG/Skyline/Adtaxi products across print, digital (banner advertising, custom/branded content, influencer marketing, behavioral and contextual targeting), video, SEO/SEM, mobile, and social media Stay current with advertising technology trends Demonstrate expert knowledge of online media channels and their integration with offline strategies to effectively position our products and services against competitors Analyze key sales metrics to develop strategies for achieving sales success Collaborate across SCNG departments to create compelling media solutions for advertisers What you will bring: Demonstrated Sales Success: 2-4 years of experience in advertising/media sales, with a proven track record of driving revenue and closing deals in digital or online advertising Hunter Mentality: Possess a relentless drive to prospect and close new business, comfortable with cold calling, outreach, and overcoming rejection with a positive, proactive attitude Sales Expertise: Expertise in sales techniques, including cold calling and lead generation, with proven deal-closing abilities and proficiency in sales platforms (Salesforce, Outreach) Self-Direction: Ability to work independently, effectively identify, and prioritize business opportunities Contract Negotiation: Proven ability to negotiate multi-variable contracts and secure new business deals Positive, Entrepreneurial Attitude: Bring a positive and entrepreneurial spirit, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment Communication & Time Management: Excellent presentation, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Benefits and Compensation: The hourly wage range is $31.25 - $36.06 ($65,000 - $75,000) base pay + uncapped commission, and cell phone/mileage reimbursement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, and a 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
