Full Job Description

STV is seeking a Civil Engineering Specialist to join our Transportation division in either our Raleigh or Charlotte, NC office. This opportunity is ideal for Civil Engineering students or recent graduates who are interested in transportation infrastructure and want exposure to a variety of civil disciplines including transit, roadway, bike/ped, rail, structures, hydraulics, traffic, and site design. As a Civil Engineering Specialist, you will contribute to the planning and design of transportation infrastructure that serves communities across North Carolina. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams supporting the development of plans, specifications, estimates, technical studies, and reports for public agency projects. Key Responsibilities Assist with design and production for transportation projects including roadway, structures, drainage, traffic, and related civil components Support development of engineering plans including geometry, alignments, grading, drainage layouts, details, and modeling Perform design using CADD software platforms Coordinate with internal design teams and technical disciplines to support project deliverables Assist in preparation of cost estimates, specifications, technical memoranda, and reports Participate in client coordination and multidisciplinary project meetings Support construction phase services as needed Areas of Technical Exposure May Include Roadway and highway design Structural coordination Hydraulics and stormwater design Traffic control and signing/pavement marking plans Earthwork modeling and corridor development Utility coordination Quantities and cost estimating Design documentation and technical reporting Required Skills & Qualifications BS or MS in Civil Engineering (or expected graduation within the next 12 months) Exposure to Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD or similar design platforms is a plus, but not required Strong communication and teamwork skills Interest in pursuing professional licensure (PE) This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
