Full Job Description

NewsNation seeks a Senior Producer to join the show team for its weekend morning show. The senior producer will play a key role helping to devise the editorial and booking strategy and coordinate show production for the program. Candidates should have strong editorial judgement, be comfortable crafting and producing segments and have considerable experience calling the shots in a control room. The position is based at the network's studios in New York. This is a hybrid position, that includes in-office work on the weekend. There are early morning / overnight hours required. Duties & Responsibilities: Assists executive producer and anchor in setting show's editorial direction Pitches story ideas and makes guest booking suggestions Help build rundowns for regular programming as well as breaking news and special programming Coordinates the team: line producers, associate producers, writers, editors and other staff Produces segments as needed Copy edits scripts and content Serves as a senior leader in the control room Fills in as line producer as needed Manage editorial relationships and collaboration with other teams Helps implement training and best practices for show team Provides ongoing mentoring and support to members of the show team Acts as Executive Producer in his/her absence Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by network management Requirements & Skills: 5-8 or more years of editorial experience in a fast-paced environment for a national news program (broadcast, cable or digital), that includes segment and line producing Must be self-directing, self-motivating and able to work will with a diverse group of people Must be detail-oriented Must have strong organizational skills Must have excellent writing and copy-editing skills Must have considerable line producing experience Segment producing and package producing experience are also helpful Must be able to handle high pressure and high intensity situations with poise and maturity Must be able to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings and weekends/holidays Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000 Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.
