Student Employee - Academic Office Anticipated Start Date: Mid-December/Beginning of January Required: When applying, you must: 1. Attach your Winter semester schedule 2. Go to www.typingtest.com and take a 1-minute typing test. Include a screenshot of your test results. Applications without these two items will not be considered. Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part-time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ. Hours: 15-19 hours a week during semester and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit. Specific Summary of Duties Assist Dean of General Studies, Dean of Applied Sciences, Director of Curriculum, and Academic Coordinators in performing their administrative, planning, and teaching functions Provide outstanding customer service to administration, faculty, and students Possess great communication skills including answering telephones, greeting visitors, solving problems and inquiries. Create and compose administrative correspondence and documentation. Maintain confidentiality with files and information Support for associated Academic activities including schedules, calendar, meeting details and set up Assist in technical support for copies and equipment, keeps workroom orderly, stocked, and inventoried for supplies, papers, etc. Distribute mail Oversee classroom equipment and materials on a weekly basis Other duties as assigned Job Qualification Excellent skills working in Excel (certified preferred), Microsoft Word, and Outlook Email Trustworthy to keep sensitive/confidential information secure Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task Positive attitude Communicate well with others Be flexible and adaptable with attention to detail Customer service oriented Diplomatic and ability to motivate others to meet deadlines Available for 19 hours a week or less for a semester Currently enrolled Ensign College student taking a minimum of 6 credits (3 per block) and in good academic standing All employees accept as conditions of employment that they will: Refrain from behavior or expression that seriously and adversely affects the college mission or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Act in accordance with the Church Educational System Honor Code and the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations, (See Employee Conduct Policy), Comply with all college policies and procedures, Commit to bring about the purposes of Ensign College, Maintain these conditions of employment on an ongoing basis.
