In this role under technical direction you will structure, design, analyze and model moderately complex trusted organizational data for a business area, and provide business insights. This role includes process designs and procedures for the weekly/monthly/quarterly responsibilities. You will work with Actuarial teams to assure oracle based and cloud based processes complete accurately and timely. This role includes data engineering to allow for maintenance and support key Actuarial data aggregation. This Data management role will work closely with IT teams to assure proper controls are in place for Actuarial reporting. JOB DESCRIPTION: Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines: Analyzes, develops specifications and executes data mapping and transformation processes and requirements within and between applications. Collaborates with management, technical staff and subject matter advisors to understand business issues, troubleshoot problems and develop and recommend cost-effective data solutions for data anomalies. Evaluates defined client area requirements and processes for changes to application table values. Performs data analysis, develops and executes requisite changes to implement approved requests, ensuring that new values comply with corporate data policy and/or reporting needs. Drafts high level design of data solutions. Consults with client areas and application areas to analyze table usage and capabilities, identifies associated risks, resolves problems and recommends and/or executes resolutions. Ensures data integrity by developing and executing necessary processes and controls around the flow of data. Verifies accuracy of table changes and data transformation processes. Test changes prior to deployment as appropriate Utilizes technology to analyze data and/or metrics from applicable systems to review data processes, identify issues, determine actions to resolve or escalate problems that require data, system or process improvements Performs data related research and root cause analysis activities, provides correction specifications, and escalates issues as appropriate. Defines, publishes and/or enforces changes to corporate codes. Provides input to data architecture discussions and decisions on request Reporting Relationship Typically reports to Supervisor or above Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Solid analytical and problem solving skills. Solid communication, interpersonal and presentation skills to work effectively among all levels of internal/external partners/clients. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic workforce. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Skillful at learning new system applications/functions. Readily adapts to change Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology or equivalent work experience Typically a minimum of three to five years experience in data management, accounting, data analysis or systems/business analysis as required by position. Typically a minimum of three to five years experience in data related or project management experience preferred. Computing skills including, but not limited to: MS Office Suite, SQL, PeopleSoft, and Business Objects. Light mainframe knowledge (i.e. Job Control Language (JCL)) helpful, but not required. In District of Columbia, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $54,000 to $103,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
