Job Title: Associate Quality Engineer Reporting To: Engineer, Project QA Work Schedule: Onsite Buffalo, NY Moog Defense Group is recruiting for an Associate Quality Engineer to join the team in East Aurora. The Associate Quality Engineer should be self-motivated and can follow through on assignments with limited supervision. The ability to work on several assignments and/or programs concurrently under stress without confusion. The Associate Quality Engineer has responsibility for the planning, implementation and administration of cost-effective quality programs to assure that a system is in place which will meet or exceed contractual quality requirements and provide the required level of protection to Moog and its Customers. The Associate Quality Engineer must assure optimum use of workforce resources in achievement of corporate and divisional production goals. As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the following: Inspection/Quality Planning: Implement and monitor production inspection plans for receiving inspection, manufacturing, assembly & test, engineering procedures and first article inspection plans. This may include the performance of physical inspections, process capability studies, gauge capability studies, and/or implementation of statistical process control plans. Contract Compliance: Review new contracts for quality compliance during the proposal phase. Maintain compliance with contractual changes related to quality. Project Support: Perform varied technical tasks which are nonroutine such as product improvement studies or process improvement studies. These studies require the use of analysis techniques such as SPC, simple statistics, and basic capability studies and regression and Design of Experiments. Training/Auditing: Assist in the administration of training certifications for site personnel and in the training and assessment of functional groups in the areas of quality requirements and other Quality related subjects. Program Support: Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing, A & T, Vendors, Customers, and other Engineering disciplines in the resolution of fabrication, and field related problems. This support typically requires the application of a structured approach to problem solving. Failure Analysis/Corrective Action: Support Failure analysis by utilizing your organizational, technical knowledge, analytical and communication skills to find the root cause and implement closed loop corrective action. To be considered for Associate Quality Engineer role, heres what youll need to bring with you: Bachelors degree in an engineering/ analytical/ scientific field is required and 0-4 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, assembly & test, or quality related field or an associate degree in engineering or equivalent STEM and five years technical experience in manufacturing, engineering, assembly & test, or quality related field Candidates local to WNY area preferred. Relocation will not be provided for this role. Ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
