This role requires strong real-time interpreting skills, collaboration with teachers, staff, and related service providers to support student/family during meetings and conferences. Ability to pass Simulated Interpretation Exercise. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interpret accurately in real time. Ability to pass background screening appropriate for school-aged populations. Educational Context Training includes FERPA confidentiality protocol. A signed FERPA acknowledgment on file before any placement. Preferred: Bilingual education degree or linguistics background. National interpreter certification or completion of a recognized interpreter training program. ATA (American Translators Association) membership or certification. CCHI or CoreCHI certification, NBCMI certification.
