Machine Operator/Assembler

Position: Machine Operator & Assembler Pay: Starting pay $20.37/hr with an increase after the first 3 months! Shift Differential: 2nd shift $1.15/hr 3rd shift $1.50/hr Shifts: 2nd & 3rd 2nd shift Monday to Friday 2:00pm - 10:00pm:30pm 3rd shift -- Sunday night to Friday Morning -- 10pm to 6:30am Training: First shift Benefits: Benefits Start after 90 days of employment! Who We Are: Our Winston-Salem, North Carolina assembly plant manufactures batteries used in automotive and marine applications. We opened our facility in 1978 and now employ more than 500 people and operate six days per week. We are actively involved in our local community and give back through food drives for Second Harvest Food Bank and toy drives for Brenner Childrens Hospital. Summary: In this position you will operate automated and semi-automated production machines to manufacture automotive batteries. In addition, operators make minor adjustments during troubleshooting, recognize and diagnose machine problems, and participate in operator preventative maintenance of equipment such as cleaning, greasing, and replacing small parts. Perform visual inspection of machines for quality or productivity problems. Perform required quality checks as trained. Primary Duties: Operate machinery by controlling and adjusting machine settings, feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated machines. Verify that product meets quality standards and keep records of approved and defective units Clean equipment, tools, etc. and surrounding area between jobs. Follow all safety, quality and production specifications, instructions, written and verbal. Qualifications: 1+ year(s) of experience in a manufacturing environment. Comfortable working 12 hour days. Ability to stand/walk for long period of time. Ability to work in a hot environment. Ability to physically bend, twist and kneel in a safe and efficient manner. Basic computer skills. Basic math, reading and writing skills. Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed. Ability to come in early or stay late depending on production demands. Must be able to wear required PPE.
