Job Family: Student Regular Wage, Student Work Study Department: Campus Life Supervisor: Adam Penland Job Title: Graduate Assistant for Campus Life Leadership Development Job Description: This professionally minded individual will have direct oversight for several signature leadership programs and activities at Mercer including Leadership Mercer, student leadership workshops, student organization workshops, and Mercer Leadership Fellows. This individual will also be given duties in a variety of campus life areas including student programming, community engagement, and fraternity and sorority programs. This individual must be available some evening and weekend hours. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assist with the planning and implementation of campus wide leadership events/programs throughout the year such as the student leadership awards banquet. Coordinate student organization management and trainings Facilitate new student organizations from first contact to SGA approval, and beyond. Advise the Leadership Mercer sophomore leadership program Assist with marketing and promotions for Campus Life activities and events, including website, social media, and app utilization. Assist with all major Campus Life events including, Bear Fair, Neighbear, Family Weekend, Homecoming and Bearstock. Assist with budget development, event planning and student advising. Attend all applicable meetings and programs associated with primary job duties. Other duties as assigned. Requirements for applicants: Beginning their 1st year of the Masters of Higher Education Leadership program on the Macon Campus. Possess a desire to work with Mercer undergraduates to develop leadership skills and knowledge. Extremely organized and possess excellent time management skills. Enthusiasm, creativity, self-motivation and flexibility. Excellent computer skills. Works both independently and in group settings with various Mercer constituencies Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills Candidates will complete the online application and submit via email to campuslife@mercer.edu a resume, cover letter and verification of acceptance into the Master of Higher Education Leadership Program. The position does come with an option to live on campus and work with The Office of Housing and Residence Life in a graduate on call rotation. If there is interest, additional screening is required to determine eligibility with Housing and Residence Life. This position will include a tuition wavier for nine credit hours a semester and a bi-weekly stipend. The position is a two year agreement with flexibility in the summer.
