Posting Date 06/18/26 Application Deadline 06/22/26 Pay Range Anticipated Hiring Range: $21.75 - $25.06 hourly Full Range: $21.75 - $35.00 hourly Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. A higher wage would only be offered based on direct court-related or legal experience (i.e. such as that with a law firm). Additional questions regarding pay can be discussed with HR during the hiring process if you are offered a position. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek. Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Three years of progressively responsible legal, court, or justice system support-related experience High School Diploma or GED We Also Value Justice court or justice system support-related experience Previous experience working as a Judicial Clerk Senior in a court environment Previous lead or supervisory experience Job Contributions Performs duties of a supervisory nature, such as training and overseeing the work of other court staff, and hiring staff Assists staff in problem resolution and facilitates training in court operations Answers difficult questions concerning personnel and court policies Investigates and responds to complex public complaints and requests information or service in accordance with established policies and procedures Updates database information and reads and interprets minute entries. Prepares and processes formal orders and documents at the direction of the Judge Develops employee evaluation plans and goals, and evaluates employee performance Conducts legal and procedural research at the direction of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor Disciplines staff when necessary at the direction of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor Creates work plans in reaction to workload and case filings with direction from the Judicial Clerk Supervisor Participates in committees and work groups, affecting the creation of policies and procedures Helps to ensure data and financial integrity Serves as liaison to outside agencies at the direction of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor Prepare payroll, along with other related personnel functions, in the absence of the Judicial Clerk Supervisor Working Conditions Work primarily occurs in an office setting This position may include exposure to traumatic subject matter Must demonstrate professionalism and composure when engaging with individuals who may be emotional, distressed, or confrontational as a result of court-related matters Alternative schedules are based on business needs after the training period Selection Procedure Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
