The Shipping Clerk supports outbound operations by preparing, processing, and documenting shipments to ensure orders are packed accurately, labeled correctly, and shipped on time. The role coordinates with warehouse teams and carriers, verifies quantities and shipping information, generates shipping paperwork, updates shipments in ShipERP, and helps maintain compliance with safety and shipping requirements. Roles & Responsibilities Process all outbound shipments in SAP ShipERP, including parcel, LTL, and manual shipments Execute order processing: scan or enter delivery numbers, verify addresses, and ensure correct carrier/service selection Print, verify, and apply all necessary shipping documents, including carrier labels, packing slips, ASN labels, and carton labels Route and schedule shipments according to customer requirements, routing guides, and vendor portals (e.g., Amazon, Zappos, Marines, Burlington, etc.) Capture and enter accurate weights, dimensions, carton counts, and pallet counts for all deliveries. Create and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs) when required, ensuring all information is accurate and timely Ensure compliance with customer-specific instructions, including reference fields, PO numbers, dispatch numbers, and labeling requirements Process cancellations, reprints, and corrections in SAP ShipERP as needed Monitor and track all shipments, escalating exceptions or errors (e.g., address validation, account errors, customs holds) to supervisors Collaborate with packers, transportation staff, and supervisors to prioritize rush orders and meet customer deadlines. Maintain accurate shipment records and ensure timely email communications with logistics partners and internal stakeholders Performance & Metrics Meet established daily shipping volume and accuracy targets. Minimize errors in ShipERP processing and routing compliance. Maintain on-time performance against customer request/cancel dates and routing deadlines. Support KPIs for productivity, carrier compliance, and error-free documentation. Teamwork & Collaboration Partner with Shipping Packers to ensure handling units are packed and staged before processing. Work with Transportation/Logistics team members on carrier pickups and routing compliance. Collaborate with Supervisors and Managers on resolving shipment issues and meeting customer-specific service levels. Provide cross coverage for other clerks and assist during peak volumes. Requirements: Physically capable of standing, bending, squatting, and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency and a strong work ethic Ability to communicate effectively with diverse population Must have a positive can-do attitude and be able to work in a fast-paced environment Ability and willingness to being cross trained in other areas and/or departments as required by the business Ability to work additional hours when required is a MUST (evenings and weekends if necessary) Experience with SAP program a plus and computer skills a must. Reading, writing and understanding is a must Sense of urgency is a must The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $19.50. The hourly range is determined by individualized factors such as experience and market location.
