OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY Fox TV Stations FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Networks national content. JOB DESCRIPTION FOX 5 Atlanta is a leading media organization dedicated to delivering high-quality news and entertainment across multiple platforms. We are committed to engaging our audience with compelling content that informs, entertains, and inspires. We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated News Videojournalist to join our team. Job Summary: The News Videojournalist will be responsible for shooting video, gathering information, and conducting interviews in the field. This role requires a proactive individual who can provide video content and audio narration of live news events for streaming and broadcast platforms, often working independently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Shoot video, audio, and stills in the field, newsroom, and studio. Present extended live unscripted content from the field for the stations live stream, including live video and audio narration, often working alone and using a smartphone and related audio/video accessories. Collect information and obtain interviews at the scene of news events. Edit news stories on deadline in the field and in the newsroom. Contribute to the station website and social media channels with information, stills, and video. Operate audio, video, and live transmission equipment for live remote broadcasts. Maintain assigned equipment, ensuring it is clean and operational. Alert supervisors about needed equipment repairs. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Skilled in news videography and editing on deadline. Ability to communicate clearly and deal effectively/politely with the public, public officials, and staff. Computer literate. Willingness to learn newsroom computer systems post-hire. Must have a valid drivers license and a clean driving record. Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university preferred. Three years of experience as a news videojournalist or equivalent in the news department of a commercial television station. Previous on-air experience, either on camera or audio only, is a plus. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $32.69-38.27 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
