Position Summary Identify and develop sources of supply that are capable of providing products and services consistent with Carefrees requirements for service, total cost, quality and innovation. Use strategic sourcing processes to generate agreements which represent the best value in price, quality and delivery. Essential Duties include but are not limited to: Strategic Supplier Selection Work with sales, manufacturing and engineering to determine the types of services and products needed within the business and identify capable sources that embrace our customer focused strategy. Train and develop these suppliers to improve their business processes to result in flexible manufacturing, lowest possible lead times, cost reduction and quality improvements. Supplier Negotiations Be continuously knowledgeable of commodity market conditions and technological advances for assigned suppliers/commodities. Negotiate with suppliers to obtain most favorable purchasing terms, including acceptable quality, pricing, packaging, delivery, payment terms, lead times and production minimums. Negotiate lowest possible cost while protecting our business against significant material fluctuations based on our contractual obligations to OEM and Aftermarket customers. Relationship Management Analysis of qualitative and quantitative data that is provided on creating and maintaining preferred supplier data base. Compile data related to supplier performance, assess and evaluate suppliers and participate in supplier performance reviews. Create debit memos for non-compliance fees of material received established by Purchasing. Initiate Corrective Action Reports (CARs) on supplier non-conformance and track to closure. Support Product Development and Operations Responsible for quoting, sourcing and setting up new parts. Interpret technical drawings for quoting and qualifying purposes. Act as a liaison for engineering, sales, customer service and production to communicate all operational requirements to suppliers assigned. MRP Management - Monitor and control inventory levels of materials, using the available reports in the MPR system. Update and maintain relevant purchasing parameters in the MRP system (MOQ, LT, pricing, etc) including the upload and maintenance of pricing accuracy. Analyze and execute MRP PO placement suggestions for components, goods or services in line with specified cost, MOQ, quality and delivery targets. Timely and properly execute the MRP exception messages (cancel, defer, place new orders, etc ...). Supporting Internal Customers - Work directly with production, planning, and inventory control to execute sudden changes due scheduling shuffles, changes in customer demand, inventory discrepancies, rejects, etc. Daily update of shortage report. Actively participate in reducing supply risks; prepare reports and updates as required (Cost Savings, Deposit Report, On the Water Report, Daily Advisory, etc). Assist Receiving team in resolving basic discrepancies, commercial issues, change orders, or cancellations related to purchase orders. Work closely with Inventory Control and Production team to obtain RMA form vendors for defective materials. Ensure disposition of material in accordance with RMA. Obtain and process credit notes. Ensure compliance with company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures. Drive purchasing operations metrics improvement. Qualifications include but are not limited to: Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain or related discipline 5 years manufacturing buyer/purchasing experience 1+ years of supplier negotiation and management experience 1+ years of ERP experience Proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong prioritization, organization and attention to detail skills Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements Compensation and Benefits The salary for this position is anticipated to be $2307.69 - $2884.62 biweekly.
