The Pima County Elections Department will be hiring temporary employees for the following areas of the department: Front Office Basic duties: Answer phones, perform data entry, and provide general staff support. Prepare and organize election materials. Assist with Poll Worker recruitment and database management. Apply strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information effectively. Ability to work independently, within a team, and engage effectively with the public. Additional responsibilities as needed. Warehouse Basic duties: Lift and remove boxes and items from shelves and bins. Operate delivery vehicles, load and unload supplies and materials. Daily use of forklifts, ladders, and pallet jacks. Receive, store, distribute, and inventory supplies. Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and push. Ability to work in a warehouse environment (hot/cold) for 8 hours. Additional responsibilities as needed. Technical Basic duties: Prepare and test election equipment. Operate computer and other equipment for ballot tabulation. Knowledge of basic computer skills. Ability to work independently, within a team, and engage effectively with the public. Must have a flexible schedule and availability to work long days. Elections Aide - Early Boards Basic duties: Process early ballots. Manually count envelopes against reports. Complete daily logs of processed work. Training Coordinator Support Basic duties: Learn election day software and equipment to provide Poll Worker training class support. Support with logistics, worker coordination, and equipment setup/breakdown for classes. Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and push. Apply strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information effectively. Ability to work independently, within a team, and engage effectively with the public. Additional responsibilities as needed. Must be available to work on-call as needed and work overtime for extended periods of time. Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and Work Experience" sections of the application. Selection Procedure: Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. Supplemental Information: Licenses and Certificates: Positions within the Elections Department require an Election Officer Certification & Training Program to be completed and maintained as dictated by the Arizona Secretary of States office. Failure to obtain / maintain the required certification/licensure shall be grounds for termination. Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicants suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services review and approval of the candidates driving record. (License requirement applies to all areas except Early Boards). Special Notice: Some positions may require satisfactory completion of a personal background investigation by the court or law enforcement agencies, due to the need for access to County Attorney and Court facilities, records, and communication systems.
