In the absence of the Dietary Supervisor, this role helps oversee kitchen operations to ensure meals are prepared according to menus, dietary requirements, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities (Summary): Prepare and cook a variety of meals in large quantities following planned menus and portion guidelines Accurately prepare special and therapeutic diets, including pureed foods Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and cooking areas Record and monitor food temperatures and maintain proper sanitation practices Assist with meal service and ensure food presentation is appealing to residents Clean cooking areas, equipment, and serving carts according to schedules Work collaboratively with dietary, nursing, and other departments Report resident care or dietary concerns to leadership as appropriate Support training and orientation of dietary staff as needed Follow all Department of Public Health, safety, and sanitation regulations Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year cooking experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills ServSafe Certification (required or ability to obtain and maintain) Knowledge of PCC preferred Must remain in good standing with the Department of Public Health Join Marysville Post Acute and be part of a team where your skills help nourish and care for our residents every day.
