Full Job Description

Job Description $18 - $22/hour average, dependent on business volume & tips (Minimum of $16.32/hr). Flex: A position working an average of 20-29 hours per week (between 1000 - 1559 hours/year). Schedule will vary but is generally 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm. The Valet Attendant will provide exceptional guest service for guests visiting Biltmore by greeting, parking, and retrieving vehicles in accordance with Inn on Biltmore Estate standards. Valets will also offer general assistance and support to the department, leadership, and company. Essential Job Duties: 1. Greet guests arriving at the Inn on Biltmore Estate in accordance with training and service standards. 2. Assist with parking and retrieving guest vehicles. 3. Maintain the front entrance areas of the inn. 4. Maintain the valet parking areas and the pathways to/from. 5. Keep guest vehicles windshields clear of dirt/grime/ice. 6. Safely operate guest vehicles as essential job duty. 7. Ensure that guests maintain feeling of enchantment during arrival/departure process. 8. To help serve and assist guests whenever possible. 9. Security checks of vehicles under valet care as needed. Qualifications: 1. Prior guest service experience strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have worked in a hotel/resort setting before and/or had previous experience as a valet. 2. Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class guest service. 3. Must be able to operate both automatic and standard transmission vehicles. 4. Excellent organizational skills. 5. Be able to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve quickly in a guest service setting. 6. The ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative where appropriate. 7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage with guests in a sincere and helpful manner is key. 8. Must be able to communicate effectively using standard written and spoken English; working knowledge/fluency in other languages beneficial. 9. Able to work as an effective part of a team in a dynamic guest-service environment. 10. Applicants must a valid drivers license and be at least 18 years of age or older; driving record must be clean and points-free for at least the past two years. Physical Requirements: 1. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds or more on a regular basis. 2. Be able to park and retrieve vehicles from valet parking in a timely manner. 3. Ability to operate standard transmission vehicles. 4. Have full manual dexterity and be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time. 5. Ability to work outside in all types of weather with fluctuations in temperatures and conditions.
