Our Electrical Engineering discipline focuses on planning, designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems that support a wide variety of infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. Staff in the electrical discipline possess a broad range of skills, including power distribution design, lighting systems, grounding and lightning protection systems, electrical equipment selection, control systems integration, and preparation of construction documents. Interns may perform and/or participate in additional activities/events which help them build a strong network within the Hanson community and with fellow interns. Internships may require travel to suppliers, customers, project sites, or other Hanson locations. Key Responsibilities: Electrical Engineering interns will be expected to perform the following key responsibilities with supervision and assistance from a Hanson Professional Engineer: Assist with engineering analyses, design development, preparation of construction documents, and field investigations for a variety of projects. Perform and/or participate in additional activities/events that help them build a strong network within the Hanson community and with fellow interns. Qualifications: Must be actively enrolled in an electrical engineering degree program. The ideal candidate will have successfully completed their sophomore year and be actively enrolled in a 4-year college or university, with coursework directly related to the position for which they are applying. Students who have completed more than 60 hours of coursework applicable to their degree and have a strong drive to gain experience in the electrical engineering field will be considered. Key requirements are listed but not limited to the following: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Productive written and oral communication skills Knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Valid driver's license The hourly range for this position is $21-$26 for undergraduates.
