Greets and serve clients that call or come into the office to inquire about program guidelines. Responds to telephone calls or directs to appropriate person. Assists clients with completing applications correctly and informs clients of other assistance available. Prepares, distributes, and verifies documents and inputs data into the computer database. Reviews applications and collects necessary documents; assists staff when reviewing applications. Processes all incoming mail and faxes; makes copies of applications, runs monthly and weekly reports and distributes to necessary providers. Mails out recertification appointment letters and applications and manages appointments for staff. Learns, remains educated and up to date on program handbook and guidelines. Reviews documented information submitted; qualify or disqualify applicants in accordance with state and county guidelines and maintain HIPAA compliance regulations. Explains program guidelines, obtain forms and give directions when necessary. Runs active client lists weekly and faxes to mandated providers. Assists other employees with duties when needed, performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma/GED. Associates degree preferred. 1 year job related work experience. Good computer and typing skills (Min. 35 wpm). Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; the ability to deal effectively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize own work and ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines. Bilingual preferred. STARTING SALARY RANGE: $15.30 - $18.25 hourly based on qualifications CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position All full-time and part-time employees are members of the Texas County District Retirement System (TCDRS).
