Team Description: The Non-Wires Solutions (NWS) Program plays a key role in modernizing energy infrastructure by deferring or replacing traditional capital projects with Distributed Energy Resources (DER). These DER technologies include energy efficiency, demand response, grid software and controls, renewable energy, energy storage, and other innovative solutions. The team identifies system needs, develops both traditional and non-traditional solutions, maintains program documentation, and contributes to regulatory filingsall while driving process improvements. With a focus on forward-thinking grid planning, the department is vital to AVANGRIDs efforts to deliver reliable, sustainable energy solutions. Job Summary: General responsibilities include, reviewing and approving incoming NWS proposals to ensure alignment with program goals and criteria, conducting distribution and transmission system assessments with engineering support to identify viable solution paths, and updating key documentation such as process models, SOPs, and presentations. The role also involves analyzing planning and performance data to inform project decisions and evaluate program impact, engaging with internal stakeholders to support regulatory filings and address inquiries, and staying informed on distributed energy resource (DER) technologies and emerging industry best practices to guide program development. Additionally, the position provides administrative support to assist with general tasks and operational needs across the broader team.
