The Role: We are looking for our next Account Managerwithin ourNutrition & Bioindustry Commercialteam. As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for growing an assigned portfolio of customers, developing new business opportunities, and serving as the primary commercial lead for your accounts. You will build long-term partnerships, drive revenue and profitability growth, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver customer-focused solutions. This position will be based remotely and will support customers throughout the Midwest or East Coast, with regular travel to customer locations and our North American business headquarters in Geneva, Illinois. Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this role is$125,000 to $170,000. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation. Final compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. What Youll Do: As an Account Manager, you'll serve as the primary commercial contact for your customer portfolio while developing long-term partnerships that drive mutual success. Key Responsibilities Include: Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of customers, achieving revenue, volume, and profitability objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, serving as the primary commercial point of contact. Identify and develop new business opportunities by understanding customer needs and delivering compelling value propositions. Lead the sales process from opportunity identification through proposal development, contract negotiation, and successful implementation. Develop and execute strategic account plans aligned with customer goals and business priorities. Maintain a robust sales pipeline, provide accurate forecasts, and manage opportunities effectively within CRM systems. Partner cross-functionally with Technical Development, Customer Technical Support, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to deliver customer solutions and ensure successful execution. Monitor market trends, customer insights, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and inform commercial strategy. What Youll Need: Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Food Science, Food Technology, or another relevant discipline preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the food ingredients or food manufacturing industry. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of successful sales or account management experience in specialty food ingredients, food manufacturing, or a related industry. Demonstrated success growing existing accounts and developing new business opportunities. Experience managing complex sales cycles, pricing discussions, and contract negotiations. Strong commercial acumen, including the ability to manage revenue, profitability, and customer growth objectives. Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, and influencing skills. Experience using CRM tools to manage opportunities, pipeline activity, and customer account plans. Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization and manage multiple priorities effectively. Work Environment This role combines customer-facing travel with office and home office work. Occasional visits to manufacturing facilities may require working in varying temperatures and industrial environments.Physical Demands Position Type/Travel: This is a full-time position and requires approximately 3060% travel, depending on customer and business needs.
