Department Physical Facilities, Maintenance & Energy Management Compensation $18.67 to Negotiable Hourly General Description / Primary Purpose This is skilled trades work in plumbing, electrical, and air conditioning equipment installation, maintenance, and repair. Job Functions Perform routine inspections. Electrical work. Refrigeration and air conditioning work. Preventive maintenance work. Equipment operation and maintenance. Follows safety guidelines and procedures. Minor project work. This position is designated as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events. In the event of a declared campus emergency, the position incumbent will make every effort to return to campus when directed. Supervises lesser-skilled workers in the absence of an immediate supervisor Discusses projects with the immediate supervisor to exchange ideas on methods to be used and to eliminate misunderstandings before beginning the work Takes responsibility seriously and works to achieve the goals of management. Supplementary responsibilities. a) Assists other trades as needed b) Special events work c) Campus maintenance emergencies d) New utilities and equipment installations e) Work orders f) Picking up parts and materials from vendors g) Keeping the assigned shop area neat and clean. Required Licensure Valid Florida Drivers License Machines/Equipment used regularly hand tools & power tools, megameters & multimeters, pipe treading machine, ground fault detector, drain cleaning equipment, A.C. service equipment, bucket truck, trencher Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades or a high school diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience.
