The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Oregon State Hospital(OSH), Food Service program in Salem, Oregon has a fantastic career opportunity for a Food Service Worker. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of food service activities in state youth or adult institution. Service activities include setting-up condiments and panning food, food portioning, preparing food trays, serving on food lines, clearing, and cleaning dining and serving areas, putting away stock and kitchenettes, and washing dishes, pots, and pans in a volume dining or food service facility. Employees ensure the various dietary needs of clients, patients, students, and inmates are met to adhere to specific nutritional requirements and dietary needs. Special Qualifications Must have a Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of appointment OR completion of the Marion County Advanced Food Management Principles and Concepts Training, including HACCP Certification, at the time of appointment. Must always be current & certified in safe hood handling certifications. Valid Oregon Drivers license. Minimum Qualifications: Six months of experience in customer or food service. Desired Attributes: Must be able to speak, write, understand, and follow written & verbal instructions in English Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines Able to work during inclement weather Effectively operate standard food service equipment Working Conditions: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and lifting (50 lbs.) Exposure to extreme temperature variations and high humidity Work safely in noisy, wet, slippery floor work areas May be required to work hours that are subject to change with little notice and may be required to work hours that exceed the regular schedule. i.e., a double shift or different shift in addition to your regular schedule.
